This October, Radio Harrow will be bringing the ‘Best Weekend Ever’ to the airwaves. On the 22nd & 23rd October, we will be bringing 40 hours of special programming to celebrate 45 years of there being a radio broadcasting service for the people of Harrow.
Whilst Radio Harrow may have only formed in 2015, one of its predecessors Radio Northwick Park had been providing a service to the people of Northwick Park Hospital for over 40 years and is still where Radio Harrow is based.
The weekend will feature a huge variety of community radio broadcasting which will showcase local bands, artists, organisations, sports groups, charities and community groups. It will be a weekend of celebration for the London Borough of Harrow.
As per Radio Harrow’s remit, the weekend will combine elements of wider community broadcasting with a strong focus on health and wellbeing. We’ll be speaking to experts based at Northwick Park Hospital about important healthcare issues, including nutrition and diabetes.
Highlights include a special Sports Show, two Charities Hours featuring interviews with local charities, a Treadmill Challenge from the Harrow Leisure Centre, a live music concert on Saturday evening, an outside broadcast from the Harrow Arts Centre on Sunday afternoon and much, much more. Take a look at the full schedule below.
