Radio Harrow Shortlisted for HBA Awards

Friday, 1st January 2016

Radio Harrow is proud to have been shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Hospital Broadcasting Association Awards 2016.

We have received nominations for two categories: Station Promotion and Special Event. Our ‘Radio Harrow On Tour’ promotion and our coverage of ‘The Colon Challenge’ with St Mark’s Hospital Foundation have been shortlisted for the award.

We broadcasted live from Kings Cross at the finish line of the 280-mile ‘Colon Challenge’ bike ride which raised funds for the bowel cancer charity St Mark’s Hospital Foundation. Take a look back at our pictures from the day.

Our promotion for ‘Radio Harrow On Tour’ featured highlights from our summer of events in the community. This included school summer fairs, the St Luke’s Hospice Summer Fete, the Vaisakhi Mela and the Harrow Town Summer Festival.

The station’s Programme Manager, Gary Walker said, “nomination for these awards is an honour for Radio Harrow and a tribute to the exceptional volunteers that strive to achieve a high standard of broadcasting. We are delighted at the prospect of continuing award winning programming from Northwick Park Hospital and maintain a standard of excellence in community and hospital radio.”

The Hospital Broadcasting Association is the national charity that supports and promotes Hospital Broadcasting in the UK.
