On Thursday 18th May, Chan Vekaria will be joining Hansi on ‘The Mixed Masala Show‘ to share her tips for losing weight and describe how she went from a size 24 “Sumo” to a size 10. Chan is now, as she says a “fitter healthier happier version of me”.
Since losing 44kg naturally several years ago, Chan spent a lot of time learning about the importance of healthy eating and keeping fit, not only to lose weight but also to feel better emotionally. She says “losing weight has literally been like a new lease of life for me. So many people take their health for granted or they don’t prioritise taking time out to exercise regularly”.
She goes on to describe how obesity and the problems associated with it are common in the Asian community, “in the Asian community there is such a large population of people who suffer from diabetes and heart disease, which can be as a result of being overweight. This is why it is so important to learn about nutrition and fitness so that we can live a longer, healthier life as well as set a good example for our children.”
Ahead of coming on the show Chan said “I’m looking forward to sharing with Hansi some of the important changes I have made to my lifestyle in the hope that it will motivate and inspire others to do the same.”
You can listen to the full interview with Chan on Radio Harrow at 6pm on Thursday 18th May.
